During late June and early July, Wild Wonders of China co-founder Jed Weingarten traveled in Garze prefecture of Sihcuan province. In addition to other business, Jed was scouting locations for future Wild Wonders of China shoots. Unfortunately, he encountered very wet weather—the wettest in the memory of even the most elderly locals. Jed went in search of wildlife in the areas around Yilhu Lhatso (Xinluhai), Dzongsar, Beiyul, and Gongga Shan (Minya Konka). While he did find some promising locations for future missions, rain and heavy fog meant that shooting opportunities on this particular trip were extremely limited. Jed looks forward to returning to several of these areas under better conditions.
